Overview

The Associated Veterans of Bakersfield are a group of volunteers who give of their time and resources to insure that every United States military veteran, who served honorably, is given final military rites.

The honor guard service will include the following:

  • Rifle Salute
  • Playing of Taps
  • Folding of the U.S. flag
  • Presentation of the U.S. flag
  • Presentation of the memorial block with expended casings (Wooden block with name, branch of service, date of birth and date of passing engraved on a brass plate)

Cost

There is no charge for the service, however, they do accept donations to assist with the expenses incurred for materials (memorial block, engraving, ammunition, etc.) and travel. If you would like to make a donation, please:

Availability 

The Associated Veterans of Bakersfield will conduct honor guard services at Bakersfield National Cemetery and all cemeteries in Bakersfield only; Monday through Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and no later than 2:00 p.m. (last service).
